Tell us about where you're from and what musical/environmental influences mould you or your music?
From what I like to call the ‘RM’ side of east london, Romford and Dagenham, also known as Essex. Always been an eastender but my roots are in Nigeria 🇳🇬. Im a proud Naija man and I add that sauce to my music.
How would you describe your musical style to someone who's never heard of you?
Best way I can describe is UK rap with Afro seasoning. Sometimes its smooth sometimes its rough but its always catchy. I like to blend my sound to reflect me, savage and sexy 😈 .. look out for my EP #SNS dropping late 2023.
What is your recording process? Are you a writer or a freestyler?
Definitely a writer. I have mad respect for freestylers, I honestly wish I could do the same but I gotta sit down and write this shit. I tend to ‘mumble freestyle’ my flow and vibe then sit down and write bars to it. I’ve made some serious bangers in the shower this way 😅
What do you think you bring to the music scene that makes you stand out?
My hooks are too wavey ! I will have them hooks glued to your brain. I think the scene needs authenticity and just good vibes you can sing along to, thats what I’m about. All this gang, drill stuff sounds cool but its played out. Leave the music for the music and the streets in the streets.
Where does your name come from?
The day ones knew me as ‘Drey Stacks’ from way back in the day but calling yourself ‘Stacks’ is a heavy claim and I wasn't exactly a baller back then lol. I used to work at Curry's I was just at work one day with my colleagues talking about how I wanted to do this music ting properly. We were going through names and I suggested ‘Dre Suave’. One of my colleagues was like ‘na thats long how about D Suave’, added an ‘R’ for the insta username and that was it I had my name.
